A pre-hung door system that's properly shimmed, squared, and sealed in the opening closes tightly, locks smoothly, and stays weather-tight for years.
Every entry door system is installed with an adjustable sill, a sealed sub-sill pan, and the same low-expansion foam and flashing tape used on our window installations, so the threshold stays weather-tight through freeze-thaw cycles.
The threshold is where many entry door leaks start. Snow piles up against the door, melts, and can seep under a poorly sealed sill into the subfloor. A sub-sill pan catches any water that gets past the threshold and directs it back outside, protecting the floor framing underneath.
